XClutch has recently launched a new performance upgrade range for the FK2 & FK8 Honda Civic Type R. The kits are available in 3 different friction materials including organic, ceramic and carbon.
The performance upgrades have been designed in-house at XClutch and offer a 600 Nm – 910 Nm torque capacity depending on the friction material chosen for the disc. “The new range of performance upgrades for the FK2& FK8 Honda Civic Type-R allow for a variety of different vehicle uses” explains XClutch Mechanical Engineer, Stewart Furze, “The organic offers excellent driveability for the street whilst the ceramic and carbon options are perfect for different motorsport uses.”
The new kits all utilise the XClutch 240mm lightweight alloy pressure plate, reducing the overall inertia of the clutch to improve engine response. The kits also include a lightweight chromoly flywheel, thrust bearing, flywheel bolts and pressure plate bolts.
The lightweight chromoly flywheel has been designed as a single mass conversion to replace the original dual mass that comes with the vehicle from factory (FK2 model). This allows for lower rotational inertia (25% reduction in rotating mass) and offers a more durable solution for vehicles with increased horsepower and torque. The single mass flywheel can also be resurfaced if required in the future.
